AN UNREALITY TV SHOWShooting Stars is an ‘unreality TV show’, a unique mix of live theatre, scripted drama and interactive virtual performance.The season unfolds over May-June 2025 through weekly Youtube episodes, social media livestreams and live performances. At the end, the audience themselves will decide the final winners, the contestants who will become the Shooting Stars.Experience the backstage dramas, the love affairs, the rivalries, the betrayals, and above all, the music, in this no-holds-barred ride into the dark heart of P-pop.

Over June 2025, a new episode of the show will launch each Saturday on Youtube.In between weekly episodes, you can experience behind-the-scenes videos, livestreamed performances and special content for fans.Interact with the characters
Over June, the contestants will be live on social media, interacting with each other and with fans. Chat with your favourite contestants, support their journey and live out your fan-fiction P-pop dreams. Become a stan or a basher, a lover or a hater, and help shape this immersive reality.See below for the social media handles of all the characters.

IS THIS REAL?This project created by a group of independent theatre artists.The Shooting Stars TV show is fictional, and the contestants are characters played by professional actors. The story of the show has been created by the artists and the ensemble.However, one of the most exciting parts of this project is: we don’t know how this will unfold!!Although much of the story is scripted, the online interactions between audience and contestants will help shape the narrative in unexpected ways.And when it comes to the final episode, it really is up to the audience to determine what happens. The live studio audience will vote for which contestants will become Shooting Stars. We don’t know which characters will win - the vote is real. We’re rehearsing multiple endings to allow for whatever the audience decide.The audience’s input will not only decide the ending of this show, it will also shape Season 2 of Shooting Stars, as we follow the winning contestants on their journey to their debut as a new P-pop group.We’re creating the conditions for this narrative to unfold, but we can’t control how it plays out. This story will be created collectively by the artists and the audience.
ABOUT THE ARTISTSShooting Stars is a collaboration between Mahiwaga St, Kookaburra Records and Brandon Relucio.Mahiwaga St is an art collective performing mahiwaga (magical) exchanges. Through creative acts of gathering, Mahiwaga St sprinkles its hiwaga (wonder/magic) in encounters to various communities, identities, and cultures.
